Going for the Dogs! by Pam Todd

Dogs

They’re our friends, our families, and our pals

They may be guys or they may be gals

dog eight

They run and jump and snooze and eat

They often sleep right at our feet

dog two

They’re happy to see us when we’ve been away

Not far from our feet they stay all day

 dog four

They give us kisses and even hugs

Then run right off to chase some bugs

dog five

Rabbits, Squirrels, and deer they chase

But with the deer, they can’t keep pace

dog ten

They’re loyal and faithful and love us dearly

It is forever homes they need so clearly

dog one

No matter what,  they like to play

Head for a shelter and adopt one today!

dog nine

The Crafting for Animals Guild on Artfire is celebrating Adopt a Shelter Dog Month during the entire month of October.  We have chosen Close to Home Rescue Center as the specific shelter to support.  When you shop in any of the participating stores during the week of October 23 – 29, please use the coupon code, and those shop owners will donate 10% of what you paid to the rescue center.  And, thanks for helping out shelter animals . . . one is waiting there for you today!

Post by Pam Todd, who features hand-crocheted items for people, pets, and homes in her ArtFire Studio, www.bagsandmorebypam.artfire.com, currently the momma of Eddie, a big guy Boston Terrier, who definitely likes to put his front legs to either side of our necks, laying his face against ours, and giving us hugs.  We lost our Daisy last year at age 12.  We are still grieving, but have many happy memories to smile about.
